Spring 2018 Webinar focuses on healthy movement

The theme of the free, Spring 2018 Let’s Move in Libraries webinar will be How to incorporate physical activity and healthy movement into health services in public libraries? Join Elizabeth Roth, coordinator of the Be Well at Nashville Public Library initiative, as well as other special guests, for this free, informative, interactive, one-hour webinar.

Stay Active to Beat the Winter Blues!

Libraries throughout North America create opportunities for their communities to stay active during the Winter months. Librarians in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, noticed that a lot of their kids were just suffering a bit from cabin fever, so they started incorporating more fun, active play components into youth programs. The Fairfax Community Library in Vermont encourages outdoor Winter activities by checking out 8 pairs of snowshoes. In Jacksonville, North Carolina, the library will hold its third annual New Year, New You health and fitness fair. Iowa City Public Library offers Family Zumba as part of its Winter Break programming. What does your library do to help community members stay active during Winter months? We would love to hear from you!
